Sloan - Oldham Cemetery

#80-48 Sloan Cemetery, Smith County , Cemeteries North of the Cumberland River
Also known as the Oldham Cemetery by local families.

From highway 80 in Pleasant Shade turn right on Sloan Branch Rd. Go about 1/2 mile past Pleasant Shade Post Office. Cemetery is in field on left on Wilmore farm. Has been partially destroyed. Only three of the seven graves listed in the book are visible. Thanks are due to Mr. and Mrs. Kindred Oldham for information on this cemetery.

2. M. E. OLDHAM: This was Matilda E. SLOAN, the daughter of Josiah SLOAN (ABT 1814, Pleasant Shade, Smith County, Tennessee - 1867/70, Smith County, Tennessee) and Mary Ann PORTER (2 May 1828, Tennessee - AFT 1870, Smith County, Tennessee). Matilda E. SLOAN was the wife of James H. OLDHAM whom she married 10 October 1880 in Smith County, Tennessee. See Child 8: Josiah SLOAN under G0493B: John A. SLOAN in Descendants of Archibald Sloan (BEF 1697 - BEF March 1674).

3. SLOAN, Monola: This was the daughter of Elisha Brockett SLOAN (8 May 1832, Smith County, Tennessee - 27 June 1909, Smith County, Tennessee) and Mary H. GOAD (28 January 1838, Macon County, Tennessee - 20 January 1861, Hessen Ridge, <Macon County>, Tennessee). Elisha Brockett SLOAN was the son of Jason R. SLOAN and Martha Ives BROCKETT. See Child 2: Jason R. SLOAN under G0493B: John A. SLOAN in Descendants of Archibald Sloan (BEF 1697 - BEF March 1674).

4. SLOAN, ? W.: This was Archibald W. SLOAN, the son of Jason R. SLOAN and Martha Ives BROCKETT. See Child 2: Jason R. SLOAN under G0493B: John A. SLOAN in Descendants of Archibald Sloan (BEF 1697 - BEF March 1674).

5. SLOAN, J. R.: This was Jason R. SLOAN. See Child 2: Jason R. SLOAN under G0493B: John A. SLOAN in Descendants of Archibald Sloan (BEF 1697 - BEF March 1674).

6. SLOAN, C. J.: This was Cyrus J. SLOAN, the son of Jason R. SLOAN and Martha Ives BROCKETT. See Child 2: Jason R. SLOAN under G0493B: John A. SLOAN in Descendants of Archibald Sloan (BEF 1697 - BEF March 1674).
